The Brick, Part I

One thing Patrick and I both agreed on when looking for a house was that we didn't like brick. I, in particular, really don't like a brick ranch-style home. Which makes me laugh, because the house that I fell in love with is just that. Hey, never say never.

Since neither of us are in love with the outdated brick on our new home, we're trying to decided what to do about it. We're either going to paint it, or stucco over it. Painting is a lot easier and less expensive, so I'm trying to find just the right color combo to suit our tastes. When you google "painted brick ranch" there's not a lot that turns up, so I'm having to look at houses whose style is completely different from our own 1950s rancher. Thankfully, I'm pretty good in Photoshop, so hopefully I'll be able to come up with something to get an idea of what it would look like.

Darby over at Fly Through Our Window did a great job making over her 70s-esque brick home. Here are the before and after pictures that give me hope! Full story here...

Here are the inspiration pictures I've found so far - in order from most to least favorite...

Okay, I really don't like the last two, but added them anyway... They just aren't quite what I'm looking for.
